The India Game Developer Conference 2022 has returned to the field with over 4000 attendees and over 60 exhibitors, entering the top 5 major game developer events globally
HYDERABAD, India, November 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — After two years of waiting, the 14th edition of IGDC – The India Game Developer Conference saw a total of 4000+ attendees including game developers, publishers, investors and game enthusiasts. The conference was held from 3 to 5 November 2022 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre.
The India Game Developer Conference is one of a kind ‘by the industry, for the industry’ initiative entirely focused on supporting and empowering game developers with ideas, upgrade opportunities and networking with investors and game publishers.
With 150 speakers which included 40 international speakers, the 3-day conference saw approximately 80+ sessions which consisted of workshops, talks, and panels on game technology, art, design, and production. The conference also featured CXO panels discussing the state of the Indian gaming industry, investment trends and their predictions for the future.
IGDC’s flagship networking initiative, the Investor-Publisher Connection saw the highest number of entries ever with around 75 startups, 28 investors and publishers hosting over 600 meetings in 2 days.
The IGDC Award also had a record number of more than 150 game entries and a new popular choice category sparking public interest and making the awards ceremony very attractive.
The BYOG Initiative (Build Your Own Game) also saw a record number of over 700 entrants who together submitted over 170 games for the judges to evaluate.
The third day of the conference saw a new initiative called IGDC Futures being launched with the sessions focused on opportunities in the gaming industry with the intention of nurturing the next generation of talent in the gaming industry.
