Hard Rock Northern Indiana defeats Horseshoe in table game in August
Horseshoe Casino and Hard Rock Casino have massive competition for the Northwest Indiana gaming market, and as the numbers show, these two giants dominate the region. The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) released data Friday that shows the horseshoe was topped in the table game by Hard Rock for the second month in a row. In July and August, Hard Rock managed to come out on top, but it should be noted that Horseshoe landed the top spot for total revenue received after paying off all successful bettors.
Hard Rock in Northern Indiana is the best baccarat destination
Since Hard Rock Northern Indiana opened on May 14, it has become the most sought-after destination for table games, especially baccarat. After all, the staff are extremely professional and during the construction of the facility Hard Rock was looking to hire around 200 experienced dealers.
As reported by the IGC, the amount visitors wagered on Hard Rock table games in August at Gary Casino was $ 42.3 million. The amount wagered was so huge that no other Hoosier State casino has managed to exceed it. The total amount wagered by Hard Rock on table games was just a little less than the combined drop in table games at the five southern Indiana casinos located on the Ohio River.
Baccarat made up 55% of the total table game at Hard Rock, or roughly $ 23.4 million. The game also had a similar contribution to the table game’s all-out victory at Hard Rock in August. According to the IGC, Hard Rock has won $ 9.3 million in table games.
Matt Schuffert, president of Hard Rock Northern Indiana, said he was extremely pleased with August’s results. He also added that while August is generally a slower month than July, the casino has managed to surpass $ 30 million in revenue and has emerged as Indiana’s leader in table games, especially baccarat.
Horseshoe Casino also had decent numbers
As for Horseshoe, data shows that this casino collected $ 8.4 million in table game winnings in August. Revenue was led by blackjack’s $ 2.8 million, which is the highest in the state, as well as a total of $ 11 million in blackjack wages. Hard Rock had $ 9.1 million in blackjack play for the same month, and he kept a total of $ 1.9 million.
Horseshoe also managed to beat Hard Rock at slots and win in August. But it’s worth noting that the data shows Hard Rock saw 11.5% more gains per location over Horseshoe. IGC revealed that August visitors to Horseshoe deposited $ 248.2 million on 1,974 slot machines and generated a win of $ 24.9 million for the casino.
On the other hand, Hard Rock took third place in slots games and won in August. Visitors deposited $ 209.1 million on 1,448 slot machines, while the payout was $ 20.9 million. The sister casino in Horseshoe, Indiana Grand, located in Minneapolis, recorded $ 221.5 million in play and $ 23.5 million in winnings on a total of 1,595 slot machines.
Together, the four casinos in Northwest Indiana were responsible for 46.4% of the state’s total winnings, which stood at $ 209.3 million. The figure is the combined amount of 12 casinos and Horseshoe was the leader with $ 33.3 million. Hard Rock was just behind at $ 30.2 million, followed by Ameristar Casino (East Chicago) with $ 21.5 million and Blue Chip Casino (Michigan City) with $ 12.1 million.
When it comes to sports betting, casinos in Hoosier State had $ 215.6 million in sports betting in August. Most of the bets have been placed on baseball, as well as multiple sports bets. Compared with July, bets registered a 10.9% increase in August. In July, the amount of sports betting was $ 194.5 million. Additionally, compared to August 2020, Indiana had 27.6% more bets on college and pro sports.
