Australian Game Developer Awards winners announced
The Australian Game Developer Awards, also known as the AGDA, celebrate the best in Australian video games – from art direction, to gameplay, to storytelling and beyond. The country is making amazing games, and 2022 was no exception. A range of excellent titles have blown us away over the past year, from Studio Drydock Wild flowers, to cutesy cult simulator Worship of the Lambby Massive Monster.
AGDA 2022 was a brilliant recognition of the talent and prowess required to create a range of Australian games, each receiving the praise and love it deserves.
“The AGDAs are an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of talent and projects here in Australia,” said Ron Curry, CEO of industry body IGEA ahead of the awards night.
“These awards shine a spotlight on the creativity of Australian game developers as we see new, creative stories about intellectual property and told by Australia achieve significant success on the international stage.” We can see that successful games tend to be ones that are also inclusive and accessible, and we’re delighted that Australian game developers are embracing these elements, as are those who enjoy playing games.
This diversity and creativity certainly showed during the AGDAs, where several deserving winners were crowned.
Congratulations to the team at Massive Monster, for winning the AGDAs Game of the Year award for Worship of the Lambas well as other coveted accolades.
